本次考试为5月换题季以来的第八场考试.

Part 2中Describe a book that you would read again这个topic并非新题，但是从这个topic引申出来的一个part 3的问题同学们可以关注一下，那就是What’s the value of reading classic literature?

首先，同学们要搞清楚classic和classical这两个词。前者的意思是“经典的”。后者的意思是“古典的”,作答的时候不要口误说成classical哦。

阅读经典文学作品有什么价值呢？你觉得未来人们阅读经典文学作品会是增长还是减少的趋势呢？下面我会给出一些参考思路。

(1)     阅读经典文学作品是一种高级享受，比看电影和电视剧有意义的多。

We should read the classics because they provide superior entertainment.

What the classics put before us for our contemplation is more entertaining and striking than what popular entertainment generally does.  

(2)     文学作品往往反映人类经历。

The subject of literature is human experience, presented so vividly that we relive the experiences in our imaginations.  Some experiences are more worthy than others. Great literature and art probe life at deeper levels than works that are transitory.

(3) 经典文学作品是我们通往过去的渠道。

The classics are our gateway to the past.  We don’t always agree with what the classics assert, but they are always a great catalyst to our thinking about life and society. Reading the classics of the past allows us to live 'in many places" of the imagination and intellect.

(4) 从伟大的艺术家身上获取不同观点与思想。

I have always found one of the most enjoyable aspects of reading classic literature is watching the most talented artists engage in an exchange of ideas; it enriches the reader's mind and allow him or her to sit back and observe profound ideas explored and interrogated throughout decades and centuries past.

(5)     拓展读者的世界观。

 There are secrets within these classic works waiting to be unlocked by the readers, which will deepen and expand their understanding of the world and consciousness.
